Pfizer brings miracle pill to fight Corona! Mega result in the studies puts even Corona pill from Merck in the shade

Just after the Corona drug Molnupiravir received approval in England, another pharmaceutical company has come forward with a sensational announcement. US drugmaker Pfizer has also developed a tablet to treat Covid 19 disease. Initial tests are promising that the drug could become a real game-changer in the pandemic.

Sensational numbers! – Pfizer releases trial data of new Corona drug

.

Shortly after US pharma Merck’s Covid-19 drug was approved in the UK, Pfizer has now released fully surprisingly sensational figures on its own Covid tablet that the company has been developing. The promising drug, called “Paxlovid”, is said to have reduced hospital admissions and deaths of high-risk Covid-19 patients by 89 percent. Supposedly, the treatment is particularly effective if it starts within the first 3 days of symptoms. However, the results were also similar when treatment was started from day 5 onwards. In this context, the US company now even spoke of an “overwhelming effectiveness”. According to Pfizer, the newly developed drug has the potential to “save patients’ lives, reduce the severity of Covid 19 infections and prevent up to nine out of ten hospitalizations”. The trial of 1,200 subjects was stopped early because of the clear data. Less than 1 percent of all subjects required hospitalization. None of them died from Covid-19.

Pfizer to seek approval for new drug

.

Now they want to submit the data of the study to the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Pfizer announced. Pfizer had already submitted an application for emergency approval of the drug in the US in October. The company reportedly already has contracts with Australia, the UK and South Korea to supply hundreds of thousands of doses of the drug. It appears Pfizer’s drug outperforms US rival Merck’s Molnupiravir, which has just been approved in the UK. Molnupiravir had only halved the risk of severe disease. At present, Molnupiravir is only approved in Great Britain and is considered to be the first drug ever against Covid-19. The European Medicines Agency (EMA) had also informed Pfizer at the end of October that it was examining the use of Molnupiravir. Pfizer’s announcement had sent the stock market into a tizzy. While Pfizer share prices had risen by 13 percent at times, Merck shares were down a good 9 percent.
