Researchers develop Covid-19 patch – It is said to protect against infection even better than vaccination!

Many people fear getting vaccinated against Covid-19, and while some people don’t trust the vaccines that have been approved so far, others are more afraid of the shot itself. Now, however, there will soon be an alternative to Covid-19 vaccinations. That’s because researchers from Australia have now developed a vaccine patch that is said to be even more effective than the coronavirus vaccine.

Australian researchers develop alternative to Covid vaccine

Not a few people are downright panicked about vaccinations. In fact, when they are to receive an injection, these people often get anxiety attacks or panic attacks. But now a development by Australian researchers may have found the solution to this fear. Instead of immunizing people against the insidious coronavirus with conventional vaccinations, the scientists have now developed a vaccine patch that is supposed to protect against the coronavirus even more reliably than previous vaccinations. According to the researchers, the vaccine patch is a gentle, and uncomplicated alternative to conventional vaccination. The patch was developed by scientists at the University of Queensland. Soon the patches could replace conventional vaccinations with a syringe. The patches should remain effective even at temperatures of up to 25 degrees without losing their protective effect. The mRNA vaccines from Biontech and Moderna, on the other hand, have to be cooled down to temperatures of -70 degrees (Biontech) or -20 degrees (Moderna) in order to be stored.

One dose for immunization is sufficient

Apparently, the patch version of vaccination is also much more effective. With the vaccine patch, the vaccine is administered through a tiny needle and is said to be much more effective, as experiments conducted by the scientists with mice have shown. “We found that immunizing the mice produced significantly higher antibody levels than the classic needle and syringe administration, with neutralization of the virus observed after only one dose. Even after the administration of only one dose, the mice were fully protected, no viral replication was observed in the lungs or brain of the mice,” confirms one of the scientists involved in the development of the vaccine patch. The vaccine patch is expected to be launched on the market soon and should then meet with great approval, especially among vaccine sceptics. First, however, further studies need to be carried out.
