Australia kicks Novak Djokovic out! Visa is revoked – but is the Croat really leaving?

The next chapter in the embarrassing and partly shameful story about tennis world star Novak Djokovic and his scandalous entry to Australia begins! As has just been announced, Djokovic’s Australian visa will be revoked – but is he really going? It seems there will be more rounds in this shameful fight! This is the current status:

Djokovic visa will be cancelled!

Is the decision finally made? As reported by media, tennis star Novak Djokovic (34) will be expelled from Australia. Immigration Minister Alex Hawke (44) withdrew his visa. However, this does not mean that the number 1 in the world also flies. His lawyers will appeal. So does the mudslinging continue? Djokovic has already damaged himself enough!

Australia wants to get rid of Djokovic!

“Today I exercised my power under section 133C(3) of the Migration Act to cancel the visa of Mr. Novak Djokovic on health and order grounds as it was in the public interest to do so,” Hawke said in a statement.

“In making this decision, I have carefully considered the information provided to me by the Department of Home Affairs, the Australian Border Force and Mr. Djokovic. The Morrison government is firmly committed to protecting Australia’s borders, particularly in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic,” he continued.

The minister, by virtue of his office, has a personal power of decision to revoke visas despite court decisions. Not to do so, however, he took his time until Friday, allegedly because Djokovic’s lawyers presented new evidence that he wanted to examine carefully.
