Scary news from Bavaria! As has just become known, the former Bavarian Prime Minister Edmund Stoiber (80, CSU) has been infected with the potentially fatal coronavirus. And this despite the fact that the politician had been immunized twice with the Astrazeneca vaccine. After his positive PCR test, Stoiber has now already gone into quarantine.
As it seems, the disease of the former CSU leader could be a mild course. At the moment, the CDU legend apparently does not need medical attention and has retreated into domestic quarantine. As confirmed by Stoiber’s spokesman, Stoiber is said to be suffering only from mild symptoms such as a dry cough. Where exactly Stoiber, who has been immunized with the Astrazeneca vaccine, might have contracted the disease is still unclear. On Monday, Stoiber had still held the eulogy for ex-EU Commission head Romano Prodi (82) with a video message. It seems that Stoiber will now spend the next two weeks in isolation at home. Let’s hope that the course of the Bavarian politician’s illness doesn’t cause any complications after all.
