According to NEWSMAX, Oct. 24, 2021, former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo told host John Catsimatidis of “The Cats Roundtable” on Sunday (Oct. 24), “I’ve seen President Biden say we have an obligation to defend Taiwan.” Pompeo’s point is that President Biden must honor his commitment to defend Taiwan against China.
In his speech, Pompeo indicated that the Biden administration should seriously consider “its commitment to defend Taiwan.” Pompeo said, “I hope the Biden administration thought this through and it wasn’t just a random remark by a president who wasn’t clear about what he was saying.”
Pompeo also pointed out that communist China has been testing its hypersonic missile system for the past week and a half, and that President Xi Jinping has said he wants to first “bring Taiwan back under the umbrella, then expand in the region, and then force the whole world.”
It is obvious that the Chinese communist regime intends to attack Taiwan by force and threaten the whole world. Therefore, the Biden administration needs to make a clearer statement on its commitment to defend Taiwan against Chinese military invasions, while the Taiwanese government needs to further modernize its armed forces to maintain reliable defense capabilities.
