Corona in Europe out of control! WHO expects hundreds of thousands of deaths

European and International Authorities Worried – Coronavirus Spreading Rapidly in Europe
On Thursday, the European health agency ECDC in Stockholm had published a map on which the whole of Germany is colored red. Some regions in eastern Germany, Austria, the entire Baltic region and large parts of eastern Europe have also even turned dark red already, given the spread of the virus. Although winter has not even begun, intensive care beds are already becoming scarce in some German hospitals. And that despite the fact that 67 percent of the population is now fully vaccinated against the insidious virus.

WHO regional director Hans Kluge gave these figures in Stockholm on Thursday. “According to a reliable forecast, if we continue like this, there could be another half million covid-19 deaths in Europe and Central Asia by February 1 next year,” Kluge is sure of his cause. The virus is currently raging particularly fiercely in Eastern Europe. Especially in Romania, the situation has been chaotic since September and there are no signs of improvement. Doctors are even caring for patients in cars parked in front of hospitals because the intensive care units are completely overcrowded. In Poland, the deputy health minister has admitted that the real number of Corona infections may well be 5 times higher than stated.
Situation in Russia also out of control
Dying from the virus also continues in Russia. This is despite the fact that the Russian government has announced that it will allow a partial lockdown in Moscow to expire on November 7. Currently, just over 1,100 deaths a day are reported in Russia from Covid-19. However, it is likely that the actual toll is far higher. The UK then had some positive news to share. There, the Covid drug Molnupiravir has now received emergency approval. So soon, at least in the UK, this drug could be used for the treatment of Covid 19 patients.
