Once again, a death has overshadowed the filming of a Hollywood movie with a star-studded cast. It has now been announced that a member of the film crew of the movie “Indiana Jones 5” has been found dead. According to initial reports, a cameraman was discovered lifeless in his hotel in the city of Fez in northeastern Morocco. Apparently, it is a case of natural death.
Sad news from the filming of the film “Indiana Jones 5”, which is currently being shot in Morocco. From there is now reported the death of cinematographer Nic Cupac († 54). He was considered an absolute professional in his job and had worked on more than 60 Hollywood productions. Among others, Cupac had worked on the films of the “Harry Potter” series, “Jurassic World” and “Guardians of the Galaxy”. Now Cupac was hired as cinematographer for the shooting of the Indiana Jones movie. The film features a host of Hollywood stars including Harrison Ford (79), Mads Mikkelsen (55), Antonio Banderas (61) and Thomas Kretschmann (59). There Cupac was responsible for a stunt with a rickshaw. First video snippets of this filming could be seen at the end of October on the short message service Twitter. So far, there are no clues as to how the cameraman died. However, everything points to a natural death. Whether the leading actor Harrison Ford was in Morocco during the tragedy is also unknown. Ford had been filming scenes for the movie in Sicily a few weeks ago.
Obviously, fans still have to be a little patient until the film comes to the cinema. Because recently the shooting for the film had to be interrupted several times. The shooting had only started in June in England, after the start had to be postponed several times because of the Corona pandemic. Afterwards, leading actor Harrison Ford suffered a shoulder injury during a fight scene and had to take a break of 3 months. And then, at times, flights between Morocco and the UK had been cancelled due to the rising Corona numbers. Only, in all likelihood, the film will be released in June 2023 instead of July 2022. By then, lead actor Harrison Ford will be 81.
