Severe storms and floods claim lives!
The water is up to the first floor in many houses here, there are real holes in the streets. Many people have lost everything here. They are desperate and don’t know what to do next. It’s a real apocalypse! Violent Mediterranean storm devastates Sicily, 700 liters of rain per square meter! Severe damage and deaths have been reported. On Tuesday, a motorist (53) got stuck there. When the 53-year-old got out, he was swept away by the flood. On the same day, a young woman also died. Since Sunday, wind and rain have been lashing Catania, Sicily’s second largest city (see the video at the end of the report).
Tragedy but almost everyday life!
Unfortunately, this form of severe weather is not uncommon. The Mediterranean Sea has partly still 25 degrees, but in the high air layers already clear minus degrees – this leads to severe thunderstorm formations! According to media reports, four men, including two Germans, were also trapped by the swelling waters of a river in the west of the island. According to the report, they were rescued at the last minute.
