Illinois: Mother of three shoots man because he wouldn’t kiss her. Who will take care of her three children now?
She wanted a kiss, then the shot fell
– Claudia R. (28) is in custody. She is accused of having shot a man because he did not want to kiss her. This is reported unanimously by several media.
According to the report, the young woman had apparently recently moved in with a couple who were friends. The trio lived in a cottage in Rolling Meadows, a suburb of the metropolis Chicago (US state of Illinois).
Plenty of alcohol had flowed
On Thursday evening, according to the responsible prosecutor’s office, apparently plenty of alcohol had flowed. In the course of this private party, the 28-year-old had asked the later victim to kiss her. But James Jones (†29) refused the kiss, kissed instead his girlfriend, whose name is not known.
Thereupon Resendiz-Florez fetched a gun, which was hidden between two sofa cushions. With it she aimed at the 29-year-old. According to the indictment, James Jones still tried to snatch the revolver from her. But she cocked the hammer and pulled the trigger.
A bullet fatally struck James Jones in the chest. The victim’s girlfriend dialed 911, and police and paramedics rushed to the scene. However, all that could be determined there was the 29-year-old’s death.
She allowed herself to be arrested
R. allowed herself to be arrested without resistance; she is said to have already admitted to the crime. She faces a charge of murder.
The 28-year-old’s public defender, Courtney Smallwood, argued that her client lived separately from the father of the three children and was a single parent. Therefore, she said, pretrial detention was inappropriate.
However, Judge John F. Lyke Jr. ordered Claudia Resendiz-Flores held without bail. She is scheduled to be arraigned again Tuesday.
