No chance of eliminating Corona
Dr. Anthony Fauci said there is no chance of eliminating COVID, but it could be controlled by increasing the level of immunity through vaccinations and boosters as the new Omicron variant continues to spread worldwide.
“I don’t think it’s possible to eradicate this virus because we’ve only eradicated one virus in humans in history, and that was smallpox. Eradication is difficult,” he said Friday during a television appearance with Neil Cavuto on Fox Business Network. “I’m not sure we can do it, at least not in the near future. It’s a pipe dream.”
Boosting is huge!
“We know that with the boosters that we’re giving now, we’re not only getting a higher level of immunity, we’re getting a broader immunity that I think is going to give us a longer duration. So I think we need to look at better control so that we can get back to some normality in our lives,” he added.
Fauci also said he “never liked” the idea of mandating vaccinations, but added that people should know the importance of vaccinations.
“I never liked the idea of forcing the issue, but the only thing that’s important is that we know how important vaccination is,” he said. “I hope that even now as we enter this new era of Omicron, people understand why it’s so important.”
