Herzogin Meghan (38) engagiert sich schon lange für wohltätige Zwecke. Das beweist nun auch ein bislang unbekanntes Foto, das die damalige US-Schauspielerin Meghan Markle (38) in der Obdachlosenküche der Wohltätigkeitsorganisation St. Felix Centre in Toronto zeigt. Die Aufnahme, die nun via Instagram veröffentlicht wurde, stammt aus der vor-royalen Zeit, in der sie in der kanadischen Metropole noch für die US-Anwaltsserie “Suits” vor der Kamera stand.

Meghan habe sich regelmäßig freiwillig in der Küche zum “Community Meals Program” gemeldet, heißt es unter anderem im Kommentar zum Bild. “Die Herzogin spendete auch Essen vom ‘Suits’-Set, und an einem Thanksgiving brachte sie das gesamte Essen, die Truthähne und die Garnituren für über 100 Personen mit”, erinnert die Wohltätigkeitsorganisation.

Große Ehre unter den Zwölf zu sein

Mit dem Post bedankt sich die Organisation bei dem royalen Paar: “Wir sind sehr dankbar und geehrt, dass wir von dem Herzog und der Herzogin von Sussex, Prinz Harry und die Herzogin Meghan Markle, als eine von zwölf Wohltätigkeitsorganisationen, die weltweit wichtige Arbeit leisten, hervorgehoben wurden. Meghan und Harry hatten vor einer Woche zwölf Wohltätigkeitsorganisationen namentlich auf ihrem Instagram-Account gewürdigt, deren Arbeit besonders während der Wintermonate von Bedeutung ist – darunter das St. Felix Centre in Toronto.

Unterdessen genießen die Herzogin und ihr Mann, der britische Prinz Harry (35), zusammen mit Söhnchen Archie (7 Monate) ihre sechswöchige Auszeit von den royalen Pflichten. Bis inklusive Weihnachten soll die Kleinfamilie noch in den USA sein. Das Paar ist seit Mai 2018 verheiratet; das erste gemeinsame Kind kam ziemlich genau ein Jahr nach der Hochzeit zur Welt.
