25-year-old dies of COVID after testing positive two days before vaccination date!

An unvaccinated 25-year-old man recently died from COVID-19 after contracting pneumonia and spending more than a month in the hospital. His fiancée told news station KSEE over the weekend that the couple had scheduled a vaccination appointment just two days before the man tested positive for COVID. “It doesn’t leave anybody out, it’s the devil’s playground,” she said of the virus. “And I just pray that no one else has to play with it like we did.”
Vaccinate Before It’s Too Late!
She has since gotten vaccinated and told the news station that it was Vidales’ last wish that she get vaccinated. “I’m so sorry,” she said, “Just the urgency. I’ve lost what everyone in my generation is experiencing. Weddings, multiple children, a home.” Vidales worked as a security guard and school police officer. His uncle and grandfather also died from COVID-19 in January, KSEE reported. According to a GoFundMe page set up for his mother after his death, Vidales was taken to a hospital on Aug. 17 “due to complications with Covid.”

On August 27, he was put on a ventilator and later an ECMO (extracorporeal membrane oxygenation) machine. ECMO machines are used to remove blood from the body, oxygenate it and replace it so the heart and lungs can recover. On GoFundMe, it says that Vidales’ doctors “did everything in their power to help him … They never gave up, but unfortunately Alberto took his last breath on October 2, 2021.”
The Family Grieves
“He will be missed forever. Alberto is the third loss in this family to Covid this year. Seventy-two percent of California residents are fully vaccinated against COVID-19, according to statewide data. Another 8 percent or so of residents have been partially vaccinated. On their website tracking COVID-19 data, California health officials note that between Sept. 26 and Oct. 2, unvaccinated people were 12 times more likely to be hospitalized with COVID-19 than fully vaccinated people.
A Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) study released in September found that unvaccinated people are 11 times more likely to die from the disease and five times more likely to become infected.
